Healthy McDonalds? - September 23rd, 2009

There is apparently supposed to be smart dining…….at McDonalds.  What’s up with that right?  Anyway, there are some trying to justify McDonalds, and honestly when I went through my chicken salad craze with them, well I didn’t justify that.  I just accepted that I wasn’t really doing myself any diet favors that particular day.  Of course, you get Morgan Spurlock, who spent 30 days literally trying every McDonalds meal and lost weight at one point, because muscle was being replaced with pure fat.  And then it took him months to get past the health problems he had developed as well as getting his old body back.  That doesn’t help anyone.  He also did a later documentary about living on minimum wage, I like watching his documentaries.  But basically speaking, because of that documentary, McDonalds wanted to get better press.  Frankly, I feel better about Wendy’s because for one thing they cook their fries in vegetable oils and did so without this kind of prompting.  Some McDonalds still sneak animals fats into major cooking.  But now, actually McDonalds has in their kids meals little apple snacks, which if you don’t dip them in anything else, are a good thing. It’s inevitable, you can’t ruin apples in that way.  But honestly speaking, that’s about the only thing healthy you will find at McDonalds.
